Who Receives More Temptations?

Faces of people in the world“No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear.  But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it”. (1Corinthians 10:13 NIV)

I have written beside this verse in my bible, “We can choose to leave the temptation!” Yes! On our spiritual journey we have choices to make!

First, the Holy Spirit will nudge us to leave.

This nudge is like an immediate red flag striking our minds.  It will be a tug in our hearts.  Will we immediately walk away or stop to enterain this pull towards temptation?  The longer we stay entertaining, the more enticed we are to step into sin.

Second, the nudging will turn into conviction.

Conviction comes from the Holy Spirit who is a gift to us from Jesus. The Holy Spirit is deposited within us once we have accepted Christ as our personal savior.  The Holy Spirit is our helper.  We always need to heed the wisdom of the Holy Spirit.  You may ask how?  This nudging feeling within you!  Once responding turns to conviction, we must immediately recognize how serious this is becoming.  Conviction says leave now, consider your consequences.

Once we leave, we need to repent.

The act of repenting is a viable source in our walk with Christ.  In the end, if we choose to ignore conviction, we will be given over to sin. Sin separates us from Christ.  Let’s hope you are able to quickly remove yourself from sin and repent. Repenting is coming to face time with Jesus.  It is time to acknowledge whatever action contrary to the word of God.  Whatever action the Holy Spirit was warning not to do.

When we respond with actions pleasing to the Lord, my how He loves to shower us with blessings.  Just like we love doing with our own children.

Be encouraged today!  Look at all the different faces representing the world.  There is not any sin made especially for any one person! Turn away from temptation quickly! If not, you may get stuck in Satan’s web we discussed yesterday.  God is faithful, He will provide a way out.  Trust Him.
