Disappointment: Enemy’s Attempt to Paralyze

Disappointment: Enemy's Attempt to ParalyzeThe Lord turned and looked straight at Peter. Then Peter remembered the word the Lord had spoken to him: “Before the rooster crows today, you will disown me three times.” And he went outside and wept bitterly. (Luke 22:61,62 NIV)

Buckle- up!

Motivating Monday! Buckle up- today’s blog will rock our world. Remorse filled the air with Peter’s disappointment. What if a rooster crowed every time we disowned Jesus? I hear Pharisees now- “Well, we never disown Jesus.” I have to ask myself. Every time we ignore the Holy Spirit’s direction, I believe we deny Christ. Did you know there are two sides to disappointment?

Disappointment

We may be a believer or not, yet front side of disappointment hits hard. It can be felt through failed promises, relationships, jobs, or even dreams. Front side of disappointment, life is viewed through our own eyes. A very self-indulged ideology of life. Unbelievers remain in this stage indefinitely. Disappointment will always produce heavy pressure on our hearts. Eventually, hopelessness surfaces from seeds of disappointment.

Remorse

Believers who are seeking the Lord, engaged in Bible study- gaining wisdom, knowledge, and understanding, experience the flip side. Gaining Christ’s heart, changes our eyesight. Once we feel remorse, we’re actually at the turning point. It’s easier to handle disappointment. We trust God’s supremacy in all-knowing. He is our shelter in time of refuge, a friend closer than a brother. We no longer want to disappoint Jesus. As long as we do not disappoint Jesus, life flows in alignment. From relationships, jobs, and dreams- we no longer wish to scream. With inner changes made, our inner light beams. No longer a sense of hopelessness, even when life throws curve balls.

Moving Forward

Disappointment is a natural part of life, the enemy twist for his own gain. Keeping individuals bound in disappointment, prevents inner light beams. The only way to have this beam is to feed on God’s Word. The beam is the after-glow. It comes from keeping our eyes on Jesus. Defeating physical feelings of the enemy’s pull attempting to turn our focus on disappointment. However, keeping eyes on Jesus allows us to move forward with His plans for our lives. Plans more than our minds can possibly imagine. Until we see it unfolding before our very eyes. It’s not an easy path, yet, well- worth taking.

Be encouraged!
