Situations Faced- Instead of Asking God

Situations Faced- Instead of Asking GodYou do not have, because you do not ask God. When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures. (James 4:2b,3 NIV)

Part 2

Today is part two- the rest of the story. When one son’s life looked hopeless, we asked God to intervene. As one son fights for his life, our oldest son arrived in an ambulance. His broken femur looked simple to fix. “Praise God! We can handle a broken leg,” touted this mother.

Situations

Eleven days after accident, Gabe was completely released from doctor’s care. From middle of 2nd grade towards end of 7th grade, our oldest dealt with ramifications. The broken femur healed beautifully- except it became aggressive in growth overcompensation. For six and half years, he remained under doctor care with yearly check-ups. Unsure any situations went well during this time. As another small army was enacted to pray, it finally hit me one day- God gave this child over to us to handle. We were not handling well at all.

Revelation

I’m fine if I never have to handle anything again. Even though the miracle is in this child, he did not die instantly or become paralyzed for life, we failed to trust God for his total healing. How many times we handle situations ourselves, when God says- we do not have, because we do not ask. When this revelation became clear, we humbled ourselves and asked God for complete healing. Indeed, God answered. He’s earned his Eagle, Academic letter, NHS, earning places in advanced choirs, and looking into wonderful universities. None of this would be happening, if we handled on our own.

Ask God

All glory given to Jesus Christ, who died and rose again. Believing in Jesus, as Savior is not only for salvation. He is our Savior everyday. Make your request known to Him, ask God for help. He is Abba Father, Alpha and Omega, the beginning and end. He is a Father who loves to give the best gifts- when we surrender to His authority. Are you ready to see situations turned around? Just ask.

Be encouraged!
