Romans 8:28- A Peace Offering To Overcome

Romans 8:28- A Peace Offering To OvercomeAnd we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. (Romans 8:28 NIV)

Peace

One of my all time favorite verses. A small Bible given during teenage years, goes with me wherever I go. One reason I’m partial to this Bible, I remember the importance of marking the Roman road of salvation. After marking these scriptures, my eyes caught Romans 8:28. This scripture set into my spirit that day like a peace offering.

Life

Whatever I was to face in life, God confirmed, His good would be worked out. This is like fresh revelation for me pondering these thoughts. Little would I know, my mother would become sick when I was 16. Her diagnosis later learned, ALS. She passed away during my first semester in college. My only living grandmother passed away four months prior. My Aunt first showed signs of ALS while visiting my mother. She passed away three years later. This was a very sad time in my life.

Overcome

Sad times happen- in this world we will have trouble. If we never accept Jesus’s free gift of salvation, we’re left with trouble. Accepting Jesus, we receive His help to overcome troubling times. Receiving this Bible, set God’s Word into my heart- precisely Romans 8:28. When I broke out of this fog, God’s promise to work all things out for my good, remained steadfast in my spirit. He has done exactly as His Word says. What God does for one, He’ll do for another.

Romans 8:28

Whatever we go through- yes, would be nice to avoid suffering- yet, God is with you. He promises to never leave nor forsake us. He’s compassionate. He promises to be closer to those who mourn. It’s not just death, yet, loss. Whatever might be lost- God will restore. He is our Healer, Redeemer, Restorer, and so much more. Who knew all those years ago, Romans 8:28 will encourage you right now.

Be encouraged!
