Option: Always An Option- Pick 1, 2, or 3

Option: Always An Option- Pick 1, 2, or 3If the Lord delights in a man’s way, he makes his steps firm; though he stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand. (Psalm 37:23, 24 NIV)

Moving Forward!

Forward Friday! Reassurance in moving forward, rest in knowing God’s very own hand will uphold. He’s willing! His hand is right there and then like trying to catch a knocked over glass before spilling…the glass moves away from our hands. I sense urgency- trying to reach before it spills. Once it lands, a mess is made. So…instead of pulling away from God’s hand promising to be there to uphold, let’s consider options. There is always an option.

Option 1

Keep doing the same thing, keep getting same results. Therefore, if stumbling has caused falling, turn away from sin. What is happening or not happening causing one to stumble? The Bible guides us into truth. Know the truth and the truth will set you free. Being free certainly sets our steps firm.  The Bible offers directions for the right path. A sure way to remove stumbling blocks from our path.

Option 2

Change courses, remove sin, while adding positive experiences. Accepting Jesus or just repenting from slipped behavior, exchanges old for new. We are now new creations. The old is gone, embrace the new. Studying God’s Word, builds Word knowledge- gaining understanding and wisdom. This filtrates into our minds, changing how we interact with others. The slogan comes to mind…What would Jesus do? We can only know what Jesus would do, if we study His Word. It’s life changing.

Option 3

Walk in ways that delights God. This is walking in obedience. Brian Littrell sings one of my favorite songs, Over My Head. He starts out stating- I’ve tried to figure it out, and now I am letting go. This is a vital place where so many of us are. We try to figure things out on our own. The Holy Spirit is ready available to guide us into truth, to help us, to be our counsel. And…He is free!

Ready?

Are we ready for firm steps? Today is the day! By accepting Jesus as our Savior, we desire to please Him. As we grow more mature, our ways become more delightful to God. Our steps become firmer. There are days when we stumble, yet, God will be faithful. We will not slip away, He catches us with His hand.

Be encouraged!
