Listening…Taking First Step, Valuing Others

Listening...Taking First Step, Valuing OthersLet each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interest of others. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 2:4,5 ESV )

It’s Monday!

Motivating Monday! Let’s get this week rolling! I love Monday. I love processing sermon and worship songs from day before to guide week ahead. As with anything- how much we put into something, will be how much we take away. Taking notes during a sermon, helps keen listening skills. In turn, we train ourselves to listen for The Holy Spirit’s guidance.

Listening

Listening is important. I wonder how many remain quiet as another person talks on? Now, I love to talk…my children think too much at times. I hope meeting eyes with someone in public, giving a smile or kind word, will let the person know they are valued. God has proven His love for us- sending Jesus, giving The Holy Spirit- we are valued. Just the world around us likes to place people in their own idealized place of hierarchy ruled by any given society.

Valued

When raised in Mayberry, USA this was a new concept for me. It must be Jesus in me, because I have always loved people. Until my eyes were opened to concept of devaluing individuals. I was in shock. So my character test began…I kept failing. Character tests became harder dealing with more difficult individuals. After 11+ years….I felt I finally graduated. We never stop learning. It’s truly my heart’s desire to make every person feel valued. And…personally thump ones’ on the head who are devaluing. Ok! I had to learn vengeance was not mine. God says…vengeance is mine. If God wants- by all means let’s stop taking on this task. I heard once, God may even work something good through His vengeance. This definitely made trusting God easier to handle all vengeance.

Trusting

Let’s be motivated to go from listening, gaining God’s knowledge, understanding, and wisdom to making others feel valued. A simple conversation with someone may be warmth added to one’s day. It may even open the door to share more about Jesus. We can be Jesus in the flesh or share God’s Truth in love- either way it’s not a chance meeting. When trusting Jesus with our direction, every interaction could be a divine appointment. It all starts with listening. Hope you have a wonderful start to your week!

Be encouraged!
