Knowledge: Who/What Do We Trust?

Knowledge: Who/What Do We Trust? So the Lord scattered them from there over all the earth, and they stopped building the city. (Genesis 11:8 NIV)

Space X

Mark Zuckerberg’s Internet.org states, “The internet is essential to growing the knowledge we have and sharing it with each other.” He explains while in Africa disappointed to hear Space X’s explosion destroyed their satellite. I find this interesting. Did you know October 1, US Commerce Department will give up control of internet naming systems. This means the internet will be privately owned by a CA non-profit identified as Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN). And…all unknown to the real intent of what’s happening.

History…

When I heard this happened, I recalled another time in history where individuals were so ambitious, they planned to build a city with a tower reaching the heavens. All for making a name for themselves, becoming too powerful. In essence, not much different than yesterday’s failed attempt with Space X. Official cause for the explosion is unknown.

Knowledge

The problem with both situations is human effort attempting to spread/control knowledge, not necessarily God approved. Social media has it’s good and bad. Concern with this satellite is who has control of content knowledge. With societal confusion growing daily, individuals have trouble trusting knowledge- who to believe. The world takes false teachings and sprinkles a little truth serving dishes of poisoned parfaits. God’s Truth is pure and holy. Taking time to study scripture, deepening ability to discern between good vs. evil is vital in keeping a clear mind in all of the world’s confusion.

Application

Let’s not lack knowledge with what’s happening in America. People will perish for lack of knowledge. This is sure the reason God hand-picked David for me. When first married, I could not believe one person could watch news 24/7. Watching news is one thing. When God’s knowledge is our foundation, news can easily be discerned when applied to current events.

Moving Forward!

It’s Forward Friday! Let’s move forward making great effort to keep up with current events. As we build Word knowledge, developing discernment, we will avoid confusion. God is in control. His plans are perfect, we will overcome!

Be encouraged!
