Fruit: Expanding Minds…Possibilities

Fruit: Expanding Minds...Possibilities “I am the vine, you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5 NIV)

This week…

Forward Friday! I continue to be amazed with scripture from Bible Study Fellowship(BSF) this week. For me, this week has been about starting a day late. No school Monday, spending the weekend in Memphis for a soccer showcase. Monday felt like Saturday and Thursday felt like Tuesday…ever have weeks like this? Then the sweetest thoughts permeated- I am a branch connected the vine, a source of tremendous nutrition.

Scripture

While discussing this scripture, I received an amazing vision of my dependency- grasping the vine, holding on for life. When connected…fruit of the Spirit is part of the nutrients flowing from Jesus to us. If we could see inside a vine, we would see the actual flow of nutrients in and out. Holding on to this vine…love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control are flowing from God to us. Isn’t this wonderful?

Fruit of the Spirit

Also encouraging this week, The Listening Heart Devotion by Judy Gordon Morrow, a defining statement, “Let nothing disturb My peace, as it is not from Me- God. If anything is happening within- remembering…what’s in our hearts, come out our mouths…anything contrary, then it is not of God. Red flag waving- take serious. Let’s work on removing anything contrary to love, joy, peace, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. We are meant to bear much fruit. This happens by cutting out dead in our lives, cutting back in order to move forward producing much fruit- fruit that will last.

Possibilities

This is too good not to share, thoughts keep permeating. No fruit is possible without being connected to the vine, Jesus Christ. Fruit as the world knows…does not last. It almost looks impossible to function in the fruit of Spirit. Changing the world’s definition in our mind, helps open our eyes to see possibility. Trusting Jesus, we actually succeed.

Be encouraged!
