Kindness: A Strong Pillar of Faith, Strength for Today

Kindness: A Strong Pillar of Faith, Strength for TodayBy purity, knowledge, patience, kindness, the Holy Spirit, genuine love; (2 Corinthians 6:6 ESV)

Forward Friday!

The final normal Friday of the year. Would you agree? In midst of Paul’s hardships listed in 2 Corinthians, we find kindness listed among strong pillars in faith…purity, knowledge, patience, kindness. Thanksgiving week is like checking items off list, ready for a race. When thinking about Black Friday shoppers next week, schedules, and traffic- kindness may be the hardest gift to find. Kindness is a treasure when understood.

People

Thinking back to times I was unkind makes me shudder. A cluttered heart is never good. Yesterday, I was behind a vehicle that caught my attention. A little elderly lady driving with a dashboard full of those toys that stick, moving back and forth. No doubt bringing her joy, making me smile. Wouldn’t it be a wonderful world if…we could celebrate individuals unique personalities, withholding judgement and harsh ridicule? Most of the time, judgement and ridicule is directed toward people who are genuine, accomplishing a great amount of good.

Serving

I just read a post from our governor, stating many he talks with refuse to step forward to serve, not wanting to deal with negative attacks. We’ve seen enough to know, any strong conservative candidate for public service- the left go into strike and destroy mode. They do this with lies, trusting they will provoke fear into people. And fear…is not of God, which means…comes from satan. Fear is his tool, used to steal, kill, and destroy. Opposite of fear is faith. Faith is God’s source to stand firm, engaging in ways even surprising to ourselves, all good. God’s Word is true.

Kindness

Let’s move forward, accepting unique qualities in people. In doing so, hearts have been purified, taking on the likeness of Christ. God sent Jesus to live as man, free of sin- overcoming satan’s attempt to break down. Jesus took time away from the crowds in order to pray. In order to stand strong in midst of societal confusion, we must take time to pray, gaining God’s perspective. As we study God’s Word, we learn kindness. More we practice genuine kindness, more it becomes a natural part of our interactions. Ready to move forward? Let’s go!

Be encouraged!
