Enemies of The Cross: Good News For You!

For, as I have often told you before and now say again even with tears, many live as enemies of the cross of Christ. Their destiny is destruction, their god is their stomach, and their glory is in their shame. Their mind is on earthly things. But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ. (Philippians 3:18-20 NIV)

Perfect Timing

The movie, I Can Only Imagine, came out in perfect timing. The example of redemption, God’s purpose prevailing in Bart. The knowledge given to Bart, knowing who to contact and keep contacting, to all God aligned and became Mercy Me’s support team. All because…he avoided becoming an enemy of the cross.

Enemies of The Cross

Now why did Paul have to place stomach in this discussion? Yet, food/banquets were their gods, even so for many today, and ticked I’ve allowed myself to be included in this group. False gods are never to be empowered in our lives, a goal satan strives to inflict. Any time false gods are empowered, less room necessary for Truth. If satan can grip, given an inch, he’ll take a mile. No…he’ll take it all, all of anyone willing to be deceived. And…destruction leads to death. Many live as enemies of the cross, and fail to realize.

The Mind

The mind- such a key element in our daily life. Control central igniting will power and thoughts landing either on earthly things or the mind of Christ. 1 Corinthians 2:16 ESV “For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ. Romans 12:2 ESV Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable, and perfect. 

God’s Will

The devil has tricked many to live as enemies of the cross, real shame. Jesus came to earth for all mankind. Studying scripture, expands our minds, gaining wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. We no longer desire this world, continually renewing our minds as needed, discerning God’s will. The good, acceptable, and perfect is within reach for all who seek. Only satan wants us to be enemies of the cross- God wants us to be family. Transferring our citizenship in Heaven, avoids destruction and eventually death. Maybe this will help a few actors who think transferring citizenship to another country will save them. There is only one way to be saved- our Savior, The Lord, Jesus Christ.
