Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. (1 John 4:7,8 NIV)
Hatred stirs up dissension, but love covers all wrongs. (Proverbs 10:12)
Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers a multitude of sins. (1 Peter 4:8)
Love is in the air! It is everywhere!
What are we to do? God’s Word is true!
We must love, We must love?
A simple task it seems…
a few we want to scream!
Love who? Love them?
no way! yes way!
How can this be?
Please answer me…..
… there are difficult individuals in this world. As much as we believe we overflow with love, a few find us difficult. This is satan’s master plan. To cause as much confusion and conflict between people to break down unity. See, God says where there are two or more gathered in His name, there He is also. A chord of 3 strings is not easily broken. For a Christian, unity is a huge part of our strength. Can you imagine a creature full of hate being smothered with sugary treats drenching all over him. This must be how satan feels on Valentine’s Day.
The ultimate love
The ultimate love gift is Jesus. His selfless act dying on the cross covering all sin. Through His death, we might live. The choice is ours to accept or decline. Once we accept, believe and confess Jesus is Lord of our life, we begin a journey learning to love others. A day will come as we build up an amazing amount of Word knowledge, God’s spirit flowing through us, we will pass this test. Be prepared, satan will punch where it hurts the hardest. Be determined to pass the test. All the ill feelings once in our brains have been replaced with good thoughts from Christ. Yes we can! Yes we can! Yes we can! We can love our enemies. We can love the person who is annoying. We can love driving in traffic. In all situations, Christ’s love in us allows us to move forward from all wrongs. Love covers all wrong. We never know what someone else is going through. Who needs our warm smile the most?
Be encouraged! Allow the love of Jesus Christ to begin flowing from you today.
