Hunger and Thirst for Righteousness

Huger and Thirst for Righteousness, we will be filled.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. (Matthew 5:6, NIV)

The lights dimmed, I could hardly see.

Where is this path taking me?

Foolishness is what I feel, as I begin to kneel.

My mind begins to stir, everything a blur.

What am I suppose to do, I try to remind myself…

“Stay calm, my child” – What? Who? Where?

This is real, God does speak to me!

Why have I doubted for so long…

All the friends I have led wrong.

Lord, forgive me of this I pray,

I believe and will light the way.

As I turn around and close my eyes

my selfish flesh begins to die.

I can now see and  further I go…

He is coming closer, I have drawn near

The warmth of His embrace is nothing to fear.

 The process

As we move closer to God, He will move closer to us. There is nothing sweeter than His warm embrace. Especially after we experience sharp edges shearing away all selfish-world minded ways we have. Jesus’s divine purpose is to create a heart within us like His. Time spent refining is determined by how rebellious we are in this process. The process can be grueling. It is like trying to get out of a clear bubble yet you keep rotating inside the bubble. Stay faithful. Continue seeking, praying, and growing more in spirit and truth. Keep the band-aids close. There will come a day, many of you may have passed this day long ago, when you no longer react to offensive situations. You will gain clarity and confidence in your life’s purpose.

Our days numbered

The direction our Nation/World is going should be no surprise to those who read their Bibles. Our days are numbered. Will we see Jesus return in our time? Who knows? What I do know is this…The Bible informs there will be a second coming of Jesus. No one knows the time or the day, except God.  I sense our current experiences are a reflection of  early creation. Sodom and Gomorrah was completely destroyed due to wickedness. Their sexual sins were identified in scripture. In the days of Noah, everything was destroyed, except what was on the Ark. Nineveh was full of corruption.  Jonah did not want to obey and ended up in the stomach of a large fish. Great rewards came when Jonah relented and went the path God had for him. Lot and his daughters were saved. Noah, his family, and all the animals were saved. See the pattern?

Hunger and thirst for righteousness

Have you been thirsty lately? Has a false sense of fulfillment quenched your hunger? Remember, as we draw near, there is nothing to fear. Our bodies were not made for junk food, nor were our inner souls. As we thirst and hunger for righteousness, we will be filled. How? We find a church who believes in all of God’s infallible Word. Begin reading your Bible. God will help you understand. Pray for a divine mentor and friendships. The great commission is a calling upon each one of us. We have to obey God’s commands before we will get anyone else to follow. We would all be surprised how many people watch from afar. May they feel God’s presence permeating from us where they stand.

Be encouraged! (Please note…my poem is not likely following a correct form, a poetry class is needed.)
