Hope Refreshes and Strengthens

Hope Refreshes and Strengthens

Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. (Isaiah 40:31 NIV)

Difference?

From Monday’s blog, I made a statement how satan sees an enter sign during our weakness. Let’s take this one step further. He can only enter if we let him. He may think the sign reads…Enter when it became..Do Not Enter. What determines the difference? Where we place our hope.

Hope

Victim to times of weakness is inevitable. Decide where your strength comes from. Those who hope in the Lord, will develop a relationship with Jesus. As we get to know Him, we get to know God’s Word. As we get to know God’s Word, faith begins to grow. Trust builds as confidence in our Lord is gained. We develop a defense system with God’s Word against any attacks.

  • When we are weak, then we are strong-Christ’s power rests on us. (2 Corinthians 12: 9b,10b NIV)
  • Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1 KJV)
  • We submit ourselves to God, resist the devil and he will flee from us. Come near to God, He will come near to us. (James 4:7,8a NIV)
  • We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.(2 Corinthians 10:5 NIV)

God Promises

God promises when we hope in the Lord, our strength is renewed. The choice is ours to believe. I love how this song says…if we can see it, we can do it…just believe. If a contrary thought comes to our minds, we are to take it captive. Do not feed on negative thoughts. Do not give any further thought to sinful situations. This is a key verse to keep our minds clear to keep the…Do Not Enter sign for satan to see. Anything that does not agree with God’s Word, then discard. Hope in anything other than the one- true God is useless.

Eagles Soar

Eagles soar with beautiful grace. The thought of running without growing weary is refreshing. To walk and not grow faint is energizing. This last part speaks to me. Wherever God leads, we have courage to walk with confidence. We walk with confidence because we know where we place our hope. This is Dig Deeper Wednesday. Let’s dig deep pondering each of the above verses. They may be new thoughts for many. A reminder for many. Refresh your thoughts and bask in God’s goodness.

Be encouraged!
