Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears, let him hear. (Matthew 13: 43 NIV)
Free gift
Righteousness, the pure unadulterated gift given to us through salvation. You cannot work hard enough nor can it be bought, it is free. Once we accept Jesus as our personal Savior, believe He died on the cross and rose the third day, and confess Him as our Lord and Savior, we are presented with a free gift of righteousness. A picture of beauty. As we bask in the immediate release of freedom felt within, we are confronted with choices. Christians face choices for the rest of our lives.
Conscience decisions
The more we seek God, our ears become sensitive to hear the quiet whisper of the Lord. We never stay the same. Only when we try, we struggle. The struggle will persist until we either surrender all to God or we stay stagnant. Longer we stay stagnant, stronger the smell overshadows beauty and fades the sun. Once we commit to Jesus, we continue on the road of beauty by making conscience decisions to glorify God in all we do. When we are faithful in little, He will trust us with much. We are not out to be perfect, our quest is to be holy. Jesus says, “Be holy, because I am holy.”
Remove weeds
Scripture today is from the parable about weeds in the field. Everything that causes sin and all who do evil will be weeded out sent to the fiery furnace where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Jesus described hell. The good news is…we do not have to be a weed in this parable. We can choose right now to avoid the fiery furnace by accepting Jesus’s free gift of righteousness. Then, we will shine like the sun in God’s kingdom. Shine on dear friends! Shine on!
Shine on!
It’s Motivating Monday! Let’s start weeding in our own lives. What has crept in camouflaged numbing us to sin? If we will remove weeds now, our beauty will not be overtaken by weeds. We never want to be mistaken as a weed when God decides to weed His kingdom.
Be encouraged!
