Target? Walk Away Peacefully- God Judges Justly

Target? Walk Away Peacefully- God Judges Justly“He committed no sin, and no deceit was found in his mouth.” When they hurled insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly. (1 Peter 2:22,23 NIV)

Target

One of the hardest hits mankind takes is becoming a target for others flawed character. Not that we do not have our own flaws, yet scapegoats are found to soften another’s consciousness. As we discussed last Friday, It is God’s will for us to continue to do good, to silence the ignorant talk of foolish men. However, this is not how majority of individuals handle these situations. How do we respond as a target?

Personally

Personally? I know it’s hard. Being sharpened by difficult individuals has been part of my refining process. Responding like the world, keeps us in fire. During this time, I was deep in studying God’s Word. One test I finally began to pass, came after accepting a PTO leadership position. I was offered president, accepted vice president. Then the president moved…fire became intense. I was cut, bled(not literally), yet led with God’s provision. God was faithful and kept me a step ahead. Power hungry PTO moms are not a pretty situation. Later, I found out I had a silent enemy. My response? I entrusted myself to God who judges justly. I knew then, God’s Word solidified in me passing these test. I withdrew into a personal retreat, focused seeking God’s purpose. Here we are today.

Church

How is the church affected? Jesus was a target during His entire ministry on earth. A target of the religious pharisees, much like modern day pharisees. These individuals have knowledge without understanding. They like to control stiffening the flow of the Holy Spirit. When the Holy Spirit is stiffened, dryness invades causing staleness. Conflict divides. Churches arise offering stimuli to awaken senses. Today’s trend is to pick a flavor and choose scripture justifying sin. Our response? Many believers are finding themselves in this situation. Never accept deception as truth. God is forming a remnant. Keep seeking Him. Praise God, there are churches thriving- standing firm on God’s infallible Word.

Unity

It’s Motivating Monday! Jesus, a continuous target, served His purpose. We learn by Jesus’s example. We too can take higher roads and not respond. There is a real sense of empowerment walking away- allowing God to judge justly. Let’s develop unity by taking this stance together. God will be thrilled- our purpose fulfilled!

Be encouraged!
