Swords: Being Prepared, Standing Firm

Swords: Being Prepared, Standing FirmTake the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. (Ephesians 6:17 NIV)

Quandaries

Motivating Monday! If your ears are itching- does this really mean someone is talking about you? If so, someone is having a grand conversation about me. Could be…we live in one of the highest allergy areas in America. Life is full of many quandaries. Certainly grander scale situations happening in need of our attention. Christians need to stand firm with spiritual swords ready.

Free Gift

Once placing helmet of salvation on, we’re clothed with robe of righteousness. A free gift, nothing based on merit. A child of the one- true King, added to His inheritance list. No family feuds, no forgotten thoughts, denying our rightful place in God’s family. When hope fails everything the world has to offer, Jesus will still be waiting.

Truth

The sword of the Spirit is the Word of God. The word of God, is our Bible, Holy Scripture. Facing opposition to Christian principles, how ready are we to stand for Biblical Truth? Even when it’s not popular with the world, are we prepared to stand firm? A tough question needing answered yesterday.

Promises

Taking on full armor of God described in Ephesians 6:10-18, brings victory against the devil’s schemes. The devil is here to steal, kill, and destroy. Too many individuals blame God for trouble. God is willing to offer mercies new every morning, go before us, be our rear guard. His grace is sufficient to meet our every need. He refutes every word spoken against us. No weapon formed against us can prosper. His salvation is available until the very last breath we breathe. Once we die, it’s all good-bye.

Swords

However, during days in this world, we have to be prepared. Be aware of what is happening around the world, down to city meetings. Develop a well balanced view of news outlets. It’s like choosing to go left or right. Reminds me- cold or hot, luke warm is spewed out. Please do not be offended by God’s Word, sword of the Spirit. Swords are sharp, they cut. Yet, cutting removes impurities, making room for righteousness. Of course, not a physical cut- a spiritual cleansing. Be motivated- have your swords ready!

Be encouraged!
