Desire: What Does My Heart Honor?

Desire: What Does My Heart Honor?Desire without knowledge is not good, and whoever makes haste with his feet misses his way. (Proverbs 19:2 ESV)

Forward Friday!

Forward Friday! Moving forward cross-checking desire. I can sing along with Michael W. Smith…this is my desire, to honor you- Lord, with all my heart, I worship you-all that is within me, I give you praise… Then I turn right around and allow food to become a false god in my life. It may not be food for you, it’s whatever takes priority over desire for God.

Devastation

Lord, we need you. As I write, it’s raining again. Our area has been inundated with flooding. Friends closer to river evacuated their homes, moving all items out. While they have been able to move back, others have not been as fortunate. Devastation is happening all over…including tornadoes, fire, and earthquakes. More important than ever to desire knowledge, keeping our feet from missing way.

Image

God created each of us after His own image. Greater is He that is in us, than he that is in this world. We ask Jesus in- satan takes liberty crossing all boundaries. Once we invite Jesus into our hearts, learning scripture is the weight that builds our spiritual muscles. It’s like a missile is useless, unless someone knows to ignite. Same with God’s power, it’s available if we desire.

Strength

Our strength is limited on any given day. God’s strength is most powerful of all. He’s willing to take every battle given to him. Vengeance is His, release all those bitter- hurt feelings. We do not have to walk with heavy loads- Jesus says, “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”  Is this speaking to anyone?

Desire

Amazing those slumbering with such chaos in the world. Yet, Jesus said there would be days like this, I never thought I would see the day. God’s Word is true and those who trust, will lack no good thing. Peace will rule our hearts as long as we desire to keep our eyes on Jesus.

Overcoming

May these words never leave my thoughts- I never want a false god to distract my desire for the one who saved my soul. Jesus is a friend, who promises to never leave or forsake us. Let’s take time seeking Jesus, building spiritual muscles- overcoming this world- desiring more of Jesus.

Be encouraged!
