Captive Thoughts Taken: Control Flesh, Overcome

Captive Thoughts Taken: Control Flesh, OvercomeWe demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. (2 Corinthians 10:5 NIV)

Monday!

Motivating Monday! We can face this day, because we know who holds today, tomorrow, and forever more. I love this song- years of singing in my home church has embedded the lyrics in my heart…God sent his son, they called him, Jesus; He came to love, heal, and forgive; He lived and died to buy my pardon, An empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives. The absolute best way to motivate is providing source where we gain our strength to face what comes our way.

Day after…

The day after Easter and much going through my mind, I want changed. There is a group attending church that is most in trouble. They have never progressed beyond point of salvation, reflecting the world they never left behind. See, Christians who have matured all have stories of sin forgiven. This is why God led His only Son to the cross, to be the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. Unless we yield, surrendering all fleshly desires, allowing God to sort out what is for our good, we’ll continue operating in a worldly mindset. This my friend, adds to societal confusion.

Captive Thoughts

During yesterday’s service, I had a whisper…Vicki, have you forgotten your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit? This was key during my high school years to keep my thoughts on Christ, understanding we are a direct reflection of Jesus, temples of the Holy Spirit. What we do unto our bodies, we do unto Christ. Am I ever going to take captive thoughts within/allowing too much food intake to wreck my desired weight and peace of mind? Bless two people in the last week who have invited me to take part in a detox program. I know disciplining myself, taking captive every thought making them obedient to Christ, regaining control of my flesh takes fasting and praying. God is willing, flesh is weak. I am nearing determination to get this done. What in your life is flesh fighting with you?

Overcome!

It’s Monday! The day after being reminded Jesus lives! This separates Jesus from all other gods- He is the only one living. While God reigns on His throne, Jesus on His right- interceding for us, and The Holy Spirit within helping- we are fully equipped to overcome obstacles placed in our path. For many, like me- it starts with taking captive thoughts making obedient to Christ, forcing the flesh into obedience. Interesting thought here…God may be showing us how hard to bring His children into obedience. If this is the case, it’s a stunning tap on the shoulder. Much to pray, helping all believers to mature in Christ- overcoming rebellious spirits, aligning with obedience to Christ. (not fake- news!)

Be encouraged!
