For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. It teaches us to say “NO” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in this present age. (Titus 2:11, 12 NIV)
Amid my thoughts today, “Messengers are not to be shot.” Truth, God’s Word, is sharper than a double edged sword. No person wants to hear truth while turning towards sin. Considering, God desires we purify ourselves to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives, He’ll speak through trusted individuals to help turn those He loves from sin. Satan’s goal is to hold till life is sucked out.
Through God’s grace, salvation is available to every individual. Once we accept Jesus as Savior, believe in our hearts He died on the cross and rose three days later, and confess Jesus as Lord of our lives, we are welcomed into God’s family, gifted with The Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is deposited into our hearts, and becomes our helper, counselor, teacher, and most important- Spirit of Truth. He will teach us to say, “N0” to ungodliness and worldly passions. This is a life-style choice- not a popular one, yet, where life’s fulfillment is possible with deep and sincere purpose.
Aren’t you ready to say, “NO” to all ungodliness and worldly passions? The enemy is sneaky… he is constantly lurking to see who he can devour. We can be mature christians and if not cautious, satan will place a little nudge, a piece of sugar coated bologna of lies to take away God’s glory working through us. Satan is already defeated, destined to hell. He desires to take as many with him as possible. We cannot let this happen- saying, “NO” to the devil and all his schemes, will keep us upright, self-controlled, and proceeding with godly lives…all leading to heaven on earth, and eternity in Heaven.
