Forget, Avoid Dwelling…God is Doing A New Thing!

Forget, Avoid Dwelling...God is Doing A New Thing!“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland. (Isaiah 43:18, 19 NIV)

Forward Friday!

We are moving forward! Can you believe it is February 1? This has been a week of basketball games with my daughter cheering. Memories flood my brain and deep in my heart of high school days. When friendships were genuine, students and parents filled the stands with roaring cheers. There is nothing like basketball in Kentucky on all levels. These are wonderful memories to keep stored. We want to forget unpleasant memories, clogging our minds and hardening our hearts.

Forget?

The good person out of the good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil person out of his evil heart produces evil, for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks. Lord, we want to produce/speak good. This scripture from Luke 6:45 has been stirring within…thinking, “Wow!” Right out of my heart, flowed unpleasant memories, and The Holy Spirit has been convicting. A prayer I’ve been praying over my family, including me…that our words would be pleasing to God, and edifying to others. A recent conversion did not measure well. Remembering, I am a rehabilitated mother bear, there are times I slip. We think past actions determine future decisions, when we need to be in prayer discerning God’s Will.

Paths

Choosing paths with confidence can be challenging. With Christ, we do not want left or right…we want God’s straight path. Though detours taken are life lessons, making us stronger and wiser, we mature in Christ. More we mature, closer we move to Jesus in purity and holiness. In midst of this visual, imagine how stained when though not evil, not good flows from our hearts. So…what normally happens, we are tested again. Looks like I’m in for a third test. This is why I have enjoyed seclusion, watching Hallmark movies. Ahh…if life could all end so happy. Actually, life can end happy…choose Jesus and let experiences sharpen us to know more of God’s Word, live by God’s Word, and be in God’s Will.

Create/Trust

Create in me a clean heart, God. Is this your prayer? I know cannot be done by our own strength. With all disheartening news, the war on Life; daily dilemmas seem minimal. We know God’s Word is true. Isaiah 41:13 For I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.” Lord, allow every reader to feel your presence flowing, taking hold of our right hands, releasing all fear and repenting from all sin…trusting we do forget the former things, realize God is doing a new thing! This very well can happen right where we are…new convictions, new insight, new actions, new respect, new brain cells…all when we step back and realize…God is doing a new thing! Only possible through trusting Jesus.

Be encouraged!
