Memorial Day! Perfect Gifts/Avoiding Deception

Memorial Day! Perfect Gifts/Avoiding DeceptionDon’t be deceived, my dear brothers. Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. (James 1:16, 17 NIV)

Memorial Day!

Memorial Day 2017, The day we remember freedom is not free. Thank you, each and every one who have served protecting our country. Families who have sacrificed losing loved ones for our freedom, we are grateful. Today, we can also be grateful our government is once again in full support of our military. Lord, help those who are deaf to this truth or blinded by deception. Freedom is a perfect gift from above, reason the enemy wants to steal, kill, and destroy.

Don’t Be Deceived

James warns us…do not be deceived. Temptation- desire- sin- death, a path defeated. Jesus promises a way out of every temptation. We stand strong avoiding temptation or the devil will drag away and entice. Allowing sin to become justified is a serious wrong. When one is bound and a slave to sin, freedom is lost. The life God desires for us is on hold- hard to live life to the fullest when engrossed in sin. This is satan’s trick making one deceived, thinking they are happy- yet, never peaceful.

Peace

Peace comes from freedom, producing joy. The joy of the Lord is our strength. Joy is a perfect gift from above. When we have this alignment- we trust God does not change like shifting shadows. Which makes me think how we are not to doubt- like waves of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. Doubting removes peace, takes away joy.

Perfect Gifts

On this Memorial Day, let’s decide- drawing a line in sand, “We will not be deceived.” To ensure, we spend time with Jesus, study God’s Word/Bible, meditate scripture until it becomes part of our DNA, applying to our daily lives. If God does not shift, we need to take note- we, ourselves, are not to be shifting. He has given us a divine purpose in life, unique for every individual….another perfect gift. God’s gifts are perfect, let’s not be deceived.

Be encouraged!
