Lord, you have been our dwelling place throughout all generations. Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God. (Psalm 90:1,2 NIV)
A fresh start
Motivating Monday! Let’s get our blood pumping and our thoughts jumping. The opportunity to begin with a fresh start may produce a great ending to our week. I like how one of our pastors would tell how we leave one season in life will be how we start our new season. It is important how we begin and end situations.
God’s perfect plan
God began with a perfect plan having Adam and Eve in the garden. They could eat from any tree in the garden, except the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. All the other trees were pleasing to the eye and good for food. What changed? The serpent tricked Eve. God warned them if they ate from the forbidden tree, they would surely die. This forever changed our course in history, yet God did not change.
An everlasting God
We have the same challenge today:
- The choice to obey God’s command or fall into deception like Eve?
- To accept the Bible’s truth, direction, and warnings.
- Take the opportunity to live life holy unto the Lord.
- Believe the serpent is waiting to devour the weak.
Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. He never changes. The garden in Eden from the beginning is described with all kinds of trees pleasing to the eyes, represents peace to us today. We can have peace that transcends all understanding. Before we have this kind of peace, we must have Jesus as our personal Savior. God is from everlasting to everlasting. He has always been here. You will never regret a decision to follow Jesus.
