Eternal Life: A Biblical Truth

Eternal Life: A Biblical Truth

“I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life.” John 5: 24 NIV)

Jesus spoke

Biblical words written in red are special. They are words Jesus spoke during His time on earth. He clearly wanted all to know the truth, especially choices for eternal life. The basic foundation to our beliefs is found in the above scripture. It’s simple.

  1. Listens/hears God’s Word.
  2. Believe God, who sent Jesus.

If we obey these two request from Jesus…

  1. Will have eternal life.
  2. Will not be condemned.
  3. Cross over death to life

Satan confuses

Why do many make this hard? A few thoughts lean towards…self-will, fear of the unknown, and attachments to sin. I have come to believe the number one reason, many times the unsaved world sees no difference between the church and the lost. Defined lines of sin have blurred. The Bible says in the last days, what is wrong will be called right and what is right will be called wrong. The mastermind behind confusion is elated.

Hope for the future

Once we believe in God and His Word, we have hope for a future. We know our eternal destination will be heaven. Anytime condemnation felt, immediately discard this feeling as a trick of satan. Conviction is one to take note. The Holy Spirit tries hard to teach and counsel all believers.

Eternal

As easy as we cross a bridge, the path of salvation leads us from death to life. Heaven and Hell are real places. Eternity will conclude in one or the other. All men are destined to die. Only God knows the time for each life on earth. If you are reading this, then you still have a chance to choose life. Once we ask Jesus to be our Savior, we are a new creation. God begins sifting old-non productive character traits to form a heart like His. One full of love and compassion. There is power in God’s love.

Be encouraged!
