Running Focused In Our Purpose

Therefore, I do not fight like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air. No, I beat my body and make it a slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize. (1 Corinthians 9: 26,27 NIV)

Running

It’s Motivating Monday! These verses speak volumes to me. Of course, I did just finish off a piece of key lime pie. However, in my own life this is a serious issue. The issue of taking control of our bodies. For me it can be food, for you it may be other areas. I would define this as anything that distracts our minds to keep us from running strong in our purpose Christ has set for us. I am pleased to say I have friends who are disciplined runners. I tried one day. I found the real reason why runners are so thin, when you run…all the excess flab jiggles off. Seriously, exercise is a real aim we need to have. Very much how we feel physical transfers into our spiritual.

Holiness

Paul’s brilliant example showed his desire to discipline his body not to sin. He is passionate about his walk of holiness before the Lord. I am sure he never forgot his days as Saul, yet understood his new life in Christ as Paul. Paul was passionate in all he did. He may have had times he reasoned back and forth and even spoke of the thorn in his side. Yet he never lost focus during the race he ran. Running with purpose, Paul fought hard not to do anything that would disqualify him from the prize. The prize of salvation and a life worthy of heaven.

Arch-Angel kicked out

God kicked an arch-angel out of heaven for sin. He has not changed His mind about sin. Sin is Sin. We have to be careful not to become numb to the Word of God and tolerate sin as acceptance. Tolerance brings an Earthly validation that sin is permissible. When God defines sin in the Bible, we either believe or reject. If we reject God’s truth,our running comes to a halt. Satan is automatically chosen by default. He is the father of lies. Satan manipulates truth to coerce people to live as they please here on earth gravitating them towards hell. Paul agonized over this battle of the flesh. We have to get in the same mind set if we want to qualify for the prize.

Breakthroughs

Where are you today in your race? Do you know God’s will for your life? Are you running or jogging? Did someone say…walking? He has given certain tasks to each one of His believers. If tasks are not getting done, then Satan is able to work through weak areas in the body of believers. Please pray today. We’ll see how God leads this blog for the week. I believe we can see major breakthroughs by Friday! Please pray. Let’s get motivated! Let’s get loud! It’s Motivating Monday!
