Hardened Hearts and Barriers Keep Truth Blocked

Hardened Hearts and Barriers Keep Truth BlockedLord, I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds, O Lord. Renew them in our day, in our time make them known; in wrath remember mercy. (Habakkuk 3: 2 NIV)

Reflection

December 30, 2013. The final blog of this year. Time to celebrate Releasing Truth’s first year in existence. Our website went live New Years Eve 2012. Reflection of highlights come during final days of the year. The book of Habakkuk came to mind. He saw injustice, violence, and evil in his own country. Habakkuk sought God with questions and God responded with answers. He did not have a hardened heart. We hear of God’s fame. I do stand in awe of God’s deeds. How about you? He is amazing.

 Rejection

Then my mind turns as my heart presses, why do people reject this precious gift of salvation and relationship with Jesus? Two reasons stand out to me:

  1. Barriers have been placed in their minds.
  2. A hardened heart.

Barriers

During worship service yesterday, I began praying for lost and lukewarm individuals. Immediately, I was impressed to pray for barriers in minds to be removed. Barriers in minds have been placed from the enemy. Intellect is a strong force. Releasing our intellect to an invisible God is hard for some intellects to fathom. Discomfort forms as the Holy Spirit urges surrender and self-preservation grounds deeper. These barriers prevent minds to receive God’s invitation to truth.

Hardened hearts

It’s easy to have a hardened heart. Offenses come by the dozen. People are people, we all have our own persona. Be it good, bad, or ugly until we mature in Christ, we have tendencies to cause an offense. Satan will use any tactic he can to distract individuals from growing closer to Jesus. Scripture says a hardened heart lacks understanding. If we know this, we can become aware to soften our hearts to understand. As our hearts soften, truth can be received.

Celebration

As we celebrate the end of 2013, I am grateful to all who faithfully read each blog. For those who stop by from time to time and those who are not quite ready for Biblical truth.

  • May barriers in the mind be broken and hearts be softened in Jesus’s name.
  • We declare the enemy has not stolen any seeds planted.
  • May God’s truth continue to be released in love to free individuals from societal confusion.
  • To allow God to do a work through us to help strengthen His church.
  • We ask all of this in Jesus’s name. Amen.

Motivating Monday!

Remember…God knew each one of us before we were ever in our mother’s womb. He knows the plans He has for us. They are to prospers us, not harm us. It’s Motivating Monday! Let today be your day of surrender. I declare every barrier broken and every heart softened in Jesus’s name right now. Be free in Jesus!

Be encouraged!
