Strength Through Christ Overcomes DisappointmentI know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do everything through him(Christ) who gives me strength. (Philippians 4: 12,13 NIV)

Disappointment

Discontentment comes from disappointments leaving us disheartened. How many of us are experiencing the high and lows right along with all the Olympian athletes? We cheer with excitement when they succeed and feel their hurt when they fail. Satisfaction felt by few with many leaving many disappointed. Each athlete is at the top of their game. Their physical strength boggles my mind. How about you?

Strength

Life. Our strength is limited. Circumstances happen. Sin may be fun for a season, it will always end with a consequence. If never repented, will end in death. The worst part of all is time wasted we can be living in God’s perfect will experiencing peace and joy. What do you say? If you happen to be dealing with disappointment, let’s stop right here. Whose strength are you relying on? We are weak and needy people in need of a Savior whose strength is greatest. His name is Jesus. Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord Almighty. (Zechariah 4:6 NIV)

Child of Christ

As a child of Christ, we have God’s Spirit living within us. His name is the Holy Spirit. Scriptures inform He is our Spirit of Truth. When we pray and study God’s Word, our ears become more sensitive discerning between good and evil. We become aware of the Holy Spirit’s guidance. We will know truth. He is our Counselor, our Teacher, and our Helper. This is God’s strength working through us.

Overcome

Disappointments are sure to come. Disheartening situations touch every life at some point. If we look to our own strength to overcome these circumstances, we may never look up to see God’s light shining. Paul says, we find contentment when we understand…we can do all things through Christ who gives us strength. I am a firm believer in the impossible due to our ability to work through God’s strength. I will be praying. This is heavy on my heart. Please join with me to pray for those dealing with disappointment around the world. God loves you. Through His strength and His salvation you can overcome.
