“…Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and truth.” (John 4: 23,24 NIV)
Worship
Not all churches worship in spirit and truth. Not all Christians worship in spirit and truth. People are confused. The author of confusion, satan, is here to steal, kill, and destroy. Make no mistake about this. Jesus is part of the Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. When we worship in spirit, we worship Jesus Christ. When we worship in truth, we honor God’s Word. We believe the Bible is infallible.
Champion
The Olympians make difficult look easy. Did any of you watch ice dancing? Wow! The couples glided across the ice with such ease. We do not see years of training and grueling practice times leading up to these performance. For us Christians, we spend years training and trust me, it can be grueling. As Christians mature, champion levels are met. Billy Graham comes to mind. Millions watched in awe the American couple who scored a high record. Though we would find stepping on ice difficult. The same number watch christians daily. Life and circumstances are difficult. People are looking for something to believe in. They need to see Jesus. Fellow believers, there is always someone watching each one of us.
Tough skin
Mature Christians develop tough skin. Funny, tough skin, yet a softened heart. Through this…Word knowledge has deepened. It helps to dismiss offenses. I like how our minister brought yesterday’s message on forgiveness. A church or a business cannot hurt you. People hurt you. As we grow in Word knowledge, we learn how to forgive. We learn how to deal with difficult people. We learn how to love. We learn when a disappointment comes, we continue look towards God’s shining light. God’s plan will always be better than what our minds can conceive. The Bible is God’s Manual for us to live life to the fullest.
Maturity
Discipling Christians towards maturity may take years to reach champion levels. To take clanging symbols and turn them into gentle quiet spirits is pure work of the Holy Spirit. To not react when you would love to tell it like it is. With maturity, we will know truth and will know like it is, yet, we have to walk in love. Everyone has eyes to see waves that go back and forth. Dear brothers and sisters, let’s make sure we are not tossed in waves. We need to be moving in the strong current pulling closer to Christ. To live the life of a champion Christian, to help disciple the next generation of christians. Jesus needs us to worship in spirit and truth more than ever before.
Be encouraged!
