Directions From Jesus Lead to Blessings

Directions From Jesus Lead to BlessingsEarly in the morning, Jesus stood on the shore, but the disciples did not realize that it was Jesus. He called out to them, “Friends, haven’t you any fish?” (John 21: 4,5 NIV)

Delay

One of the most profound blogs I’ve written was this past Wednesday. Understanding scripture is sequential to everyday life, gaining knowledge of Biblical truth. Talk about resistance when a server is down. Blog was not published in routine time. I apologize for delays. Instead of stressing, I decide to keep my joy. By keeping my joy, the enemy was defeated. Stronger we grow in Biblical truth, our weapons increase to stand against enemy tactics.

Directions

Jesus was in their midst, his third appearance. He stood on the shoreline observing Peter and several other disciples fishing. That particular night, they caught nothing. Jesus calls out to them, “Friends, haven’t you any fish?” The disciples acknowledged the truth, no fish. Then came Jesus’s directions…”Throw  your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” They listened and had more fish than they could haul.

Nuggets of information from this example:

  • Jesus is always in our midst, watching.
  • Have an ear to hear the voice of the Lord.
  • Be honest with Jesus, speak the truth. (He already knows the truth)
  • He is willing to give us directions.
  • Jesus’s directions are for our good.
  • Listen carefully.

Listening

Even with a torn net, there were 153 large fish total. This not only met their need, they were blessed beyond measure. Next to understanding scripture, listening would be close. As our Word knowledge builds, our hearing becomes tuned to hear God’s voice. Today, Jesus sits at the right hand of the Father, interceding on our behalf. Answers come fast, slow, yes, maybe, and no. However, as we tune our hearing, quicker we are able to hear His directions. Decisions are made based on His direction that will lead to His blessings.

Personal relationship

Jesus prepared a fire to cook their fish. He told the disciples, “Come and have breakfast.” Jesus desires for each individual to come to this level of personal relationship with Him. Being in God’s perfect will is sweet. It’s like flowing peacefully down a river waiting to hear next stop to make. Joy and peace really can become a reality. Lack can really turn into blessings beyond measure. It’s Forward Friday! Let’s move forward intent on adjusting our hearing to hear God’s directions.

Be encouraged!
