Hearts, Souls, and Minds: Loving King Jesus

Hearts, Minds, and Souls: Loving Our Jesus“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the law?” Jesus replied: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” This is the first and greatest commandment. (Matthew 22:36-38 NIV)

Releasing Truth

Often with a blog like Releasing Truth- our main objective is to bring awareness to deception by releasing Biblical Truth. We often address satan’s tactics. With him being the ruler of the air- it’s like he’s blown a soft breeze lulling many to sleep. They’re fully awake, yet slumbering in their consciousness. Satan identifies every person’s weak area. He attempts to create barriers blocking Christians from their God-given purpose. Guarding our hearts, souls, and minds is essential in loving our Jesus.

Hearts, Minds, and Souls

Our number one purpose is to love The Lord, our God with all our hearts, souls, and minds. Therefore, every item processed through our hearts, minds, and souls are to reflect love for God. It’s always easy to look beyond and see deception working elsewhere. A year ago, our community buzzed with excitement welcoming Hollywood to rural America. Actors like Ben Affleck, Tyler Perry, and Neil Patrick Harris graced our gyms and restaurants. The movie, Gone Girl, set to be released soon stirs another round of excitement.

God’s name

Here is the problem- God’s name is used in vain more times than I could keep count. I had to decide real quick to keep reading or stop. As I prayed, I felt led to finish reading with my black sharpie marking out every improper use of God’s name. I am shocked Christians state on social media- how they loved this book, cannot wait to see this movie. Seriously? Am I the only person who has a problem with this?

Choices

This is just one example. How do we go about making God- honoring choices? While guarding our hearts, souls, and minds, we’re reminded of our fives senses. Take every decision through the 5 senses test. What I’m seeing- is this honoring God? Music, conversations, T.V programs- things I hear, God honoring? Things I smell- God honoring? Foods, drinks, and other items we taste- God honoring? Touch- God honoring? All areas need necessary boundaries.

Protecting

When it comes to protecting our hearts, souls, and minds, nothing is taken too serious. The enemy is fully engaged in deception. In order to follow the number one commandment, we must take a moment before engaging into actions, to ensure they reflect love for God. If we do this every time, we’re saving ourselves from being in a pickle.

Be encouraged!
