Encourage: Keeping Hearts Turned To God

See to it, brothers, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness. (Hebrews 3:12,13 NIV)

Encourage

As long as it’s called Today, we are to encourage each other. Share a kind word, pass Christ’s love forward. We can do this as long as our hearts remain softened to understand. We all know someone who has been hardened by deceit. Do they realize deceit is the culprit? No. Most of the time, deceit works through individuals causing disbelief in our living God.

Deceit

Deceit takes on many faces. Deception stems from heart, forced to mind, and reacted out mouths. Hearts remain deceptive until disciplined with God’s Word. Word knowledge creates a baseline of right and wrong. If Word knowledge is lacked, we stand to encourage others straight to hell. Scripture mandate is to encourage others from hardening by sin’s deceit. Sin’s flagrant acceptance in our nation allows satan to gain ground daily deceiving many.

Prayer

Every person is called to encourage. Some find it easier than others. Those stagnant with clogged hearts become hardened if not freed by The Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit, Spirit of Truth, will convict hearts in preparation of one’s need to encourage. How about starting today- spend time in prayer, wait to hear God’s response, and move forward with God’s plan. During sincere prayer, we surrender to God’s will. His thoughts are not our thoughts and His ways are not our ways. In order to come to agreement, we align with God’s plan for best outcome.

Paths

We never know why certain people cross paths. Yet, confident it’s part of God’s plan. Yielding to God’s plan, encouraging others- keeping hearts softened, believing our most wonderful, living God. He is so good. I promise, it does ourselves good to unclog our hearts to encourage others. Who needs encouraged in your world today? Forward Friday!
