God’s Plans Prosper- Not Harm…by Seeking Him

God's Plans Prosper- Not Harm...by Seeking Him“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. (Jeremiah 29:11-13 NIV)

God’s Plans

I was almost a Christmas baby. Holly Sue would have been my name. God’s plan for me was to be born three days later, named Vicki Jo. Yesterday, I turned 45, shifted to drive, ready to thrive! Do certain ages hit you with various thoughts? This particular age reminded me of ages 15, 25, and 35. Reflecting back over four decades made me think how God’s plans were being established all along.

  • Age 15- My favorite year. A great time raised in small- rural America. As baby of the family, both parents worked- I was allowed to drive at 15. However, during this time, I loved attending church and youth group. Little did I know choices reaching back this far has been recorded in heavenly records.
  • Age 25- I cried with thoughts of getting so old. How funny! In early stages of refinement, regrets of four years detoured from God’s will, to rebellion of God’s will. Quite prideful and full of self righteousness.
  • Age 35- A real crazed season with two toddlers and a seven year old. Survival was key. Still refining- it was hard to let go and trust God’s will.
  • Age 45- Why did I make aligning to God’s plans hard? Such freedom to let go and trust God.

Timelines

Each of our timelines are different. Hope progression of growth and maturity is seen. Today’s timing is great to take present age and reflect past decades. It’s not too late to step into our God given paths aligning with God’s plans. Key is seeking God with all our heart. God promises if we seek, we will find Him. God’s plans are to prosper and not to harm. Hurts come from taking our path, opposing God’s plans.

Reflect

Motivating Monday! It’s always good to reflect paths we’ve taken and where we are now. Great time to refresh. Call upon the Lord, pray, and seek Him- be willing to listen and accept direction. Straight paths- not falling left or right, lead to God’s perfect plans.

Be encouraged!
