Have nothing to do with irreverent, silly myths. Rather train yourself for godliness; for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come. (1 Timothy 4:7,8 ESV)
Training is an acceptable concept with jobs, sports, and hobbies. How fast do individuals discard training when attached to spiritual maturity? Social media lit up yesterday with left to right upset over a civil worker refusing to dismiss her convictions based on Biblical Truth. Where spiritual training comes in handy is knowing the Word of God. If you claim to be a Christian, knowing God’s Word leads to godliness. Dismissing God’s Word, creates misguided perception of Truth.
It’s funny…comments stating she was unconstitutional. Let’s remind ourselves, this particular situation just changed, meaning it was not constitutional to begin with. More than ever before, time to study our Bibles. This is what I love about Bible Study Fellowship. All other commentary aside, men and women around the world are studying God’s Word. I encourage you to join. I’ll always be amazed when 14 different denominations were represented. Only using the Bible, questions are answered in unity. The Bible is truth for Christian believers. If you don’t believe God’s Word- then how really can one call themselves a Believer? It’s an oxymoron.
I’m not meaning to come off critical. The devil is no joke. He is out to steal, kill, and destroy. The Bible states he is constantly seeking who he can devour. People hurt people, when many times the devil is the culprit stirring emotions to react in attack mode against one another. Keeping our eyes on Jesus, removes distractions. Studying God’s Word, develops spiritual maturity guiding us to godliness. Can you imagine all effort around the world placed into physical exercise? Transfer this into spiritual training- how amazing this would be for God’s church and the world as a whole. It’s possible if we keep seeking Biblical Truth.
