Ponder: Are We Capable of Christmas Cheer?

But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop. (Luke 8:15 NIV)

Ponder: Are We Capable of Christmas Cheer?

Christmas Cheer

Oh…Dear Jesus, help me be full of Christmas cheer

Out of every corner lurks evil with a stare

Clutching a grip, forcing one to fear

Pulling away, look at me- I dare

So much to be thankful

So much to reflect

Christmas time is for memories

As much as they are to make.

Glitter, Sparkles, and reindeer

Children filled with innocent wonder

Let that be me- filled with Christmas cheer.

Ponder

Things we ponder. I’m pondering how to ensure this week is better than last week. Much of this will hinge on self-control and how I respond. Isn’t this really how it is every day and not just Christmas time. People are people, all in need of a Savior.

Hearts

I ponder condition of my heart. Not that arteries are in good shape- is it softened to understand Biblical Truth. Without gaining Biblical knowledge- people perish. I want truth changing within me a clean heart, renewing a right spirit. How about you? Never thought about it? Scripture states…hard hearts cannot understand. They reflect irritants with no remorse of hurt feelings in others. Softened hearts will feel The Holy Spirit nudge correct action. We need this more than ever…

Conditions

I ponder…conditions of all hearts. Are seeds of truth landing on softened hearts? Seeds can be trampled. Birds eat seed meant to be planted. Seed can be successfully planted, unable to grow due to lack of moisture. When planted in midst of thorns, plants become choked. All these factors reflect heart conditions.

Motivating Monday!

I ponder what if we really followed Jesus and loved like He loves. Self control is no easy task- except through clear discipline. Taking captive thoughts and gaining control of flesh. Seems like an easy task for Monday morning. It will be what we’re motivated to make of it. Dear Jesus, help each of us have softened hearts that are full of Christmas cheer. Love you!

Be encouraged!
