Immanuel- Jesus’s Birth- God’s Promised Sign

Immanuel- Jesus's Birth- God's Promised SignTherefore, the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. (Isaiah 7:14 ESV)

Immanuel

Forward Friday! Always thoughts to move forward. For many, Christmas hits hearts worse as loved ones are no longer with us. What to do refilling emptiness and edging sorrow away? Look to Jesus, He’s light in midst of darkness. The very reason we celebrate Jesus’s birthday, He promised to never leave nor forsake us. He was named Immanuel, God is with us.

Struggles

When irritants rush to steal peace, we’re sapped. Character and integrity are easily forgotten. As warm December thoughts wrapped me in a hug, irritants have been trying to zap me all week. I admit, my reactions have not been best- maybe not even good in some cases. Do I want to be defeated? No! I repent and center my eyes back on Christ. This struggle between my flesh and soul has duked it out this week. Anyone feeling a similar struggle? Immanuel sent as a sign. Jesus promised to never leave or forsake us, Immanuel.

Purpose

This precious new born King- Jesus Christ- Immanuel, became flesh and blood, fulfilling His life purpose. Leaving each one of us- our very own purpose. Overcoming two of Christmas’s biggest distractions, sorrow and irritants- hearts will open to experience God’s presence. Absorbing peace as purpose is revealed.

Possibilities

Imagine with child-like faith. Nothing silly about child-like faith. I’ll never outgrow my love of Christmas lights. Unsure any real symbolic meaning- yet, the mystery in twinkling lights mesmerize me stirring imagination and possibilities within. After all becomes quiet from Christmas Eve activity- I dim lights and let the tree sparkle. No magic bells, just me and my mind wondering through imagination to all possibilities- because the Messiah has been born. No matter what we’ve experienced throughout the year, Immanuel is with us, as God promised.

Be encouraged!
