He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. (Psalm 23:2,3 NIV)
I love Psalm 23. The only reason for reading this at my funeral is to tell others how this chapter broke fear off me. Psalm 23 is a powerful chapter in the Bible. Too many times viewed as funeral material. In this fast paced world we live, it’s nice to know we can be led down green pastures and beside quiet waters.
Peace is possible when Jesus Christ is Lord of our life. Trusting God to be our shepherd, we will not be in want. We find satisfaction in following God’s lead, fulfilling our purpose. Satisfaction comes easy when Biblical Truth is understood. Satan confuses minds to distract from having peace. It’s like when a horse is galloping along peaceful, full of grace. Then all of a sudden the horse becomes spooked- watch out! Chaos occurs as the rider struggles to stay on. Much like ourselves struggling to stay the course.
We’ve all found ourselves in need of green pastures and quiet waters. Calming only by focus back on truth. There’s a little problem the devil has…he’s a big lier. He’s the father of lies. We never want to tell a lie- not even a little white lie. If we do, we align with the devil. Truth sets us free, lies dig deeper holes becoming trapped.
It’s Forward Friday! Ready for souls to be restored? Simply trust The Shepherd’s lead. He is never to be blamed for our chaos. God’s mercies are new every morning. He is full of grace, desiring to guide us on paths of righteousness. Perfect alignment for His name’s sake. To give God all the glory and honor due Him, for all the great things He has done. He has…He’ll do same for you. Moving forward- accept, believe, and confess…three easy steps.
