Reap What’s Sown: Grasping A Biblical Truth

Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. (Galatians 6:7 NIV)

Surprised?

Hello! I decided this blog needed tweaked and shared again. Many may be surprised this is a Biblical principle. Reaping what we sow, a profound truth. Imagine if a majority considered this truth- how many would change what they sowed? If we did- we might just reap a harvest.

Reap 

Picture a person mountain climbing. Tracking over rough terrain reaching higher peaks, exhaustion pulling one to quit. One’s soul fights this fight daily, constantly tugged by the world. Which nature do we choose to sow…physical or spiritual? Which nature do we want to reap? Spiritual reaps eternal life. Physical reaps destruction. Does anyone escape this decision? No, we all have physical battles of some sort. Level of severity varies, yet, same influence of deception. Once I broke a Mountain Dew habit, only to have my body compensate with sugar.

Physical

It’s like being deep in the middle of a jungle swinging from one sweet to the next? Will this ever stop? Yes, when I decide to stop feeding the physical, removing the destructive seed. Which is the first sweet eaten each day. Making a conscious decision with God’s power, a destructive cycle can be broken.

Spiritual

Sowing into Spiritual, ignites spiritual journeys. Many Christians remain at point of salvation, choosing to sow into physical and dismiss spiritual. Some may do this by default, due to examples set before them. Yet, this is why God would lead me to dispel this false truth. We will reap what we sow. When people act bad- let God handle. They will reap what they sow.

Victory 

Once faith begins to grow- mountain climbing becomes easier, even when advancing more difficult terrain. Winning spiritual battles, increases faith. Goals met in mountain climbing are sweet- I’m assuming. Same with maturing in Christ- His presence is so sweet. Closer we draw into Christ- physical chains loosen. As we keep drawing closer- physical battles are defeated. Who needs a victory? Don’t be deceived- Sow into Spiritual and like the old song goes…Look and see what the Lord has done. Let’s move forward sowing good- reaping great.
