Spiritual Vs. Physical: Reaping What’s Sown

Spiritual Vs. Physical: Reaping What's SownDo not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. (Galatians 6:7 NIV)

Surprised?

Some may be surprised to find this a Spiritual principle. One I find truer than true. Not really, all scripture is God- breathed useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness. God promises through this, we’ll be equipped for every good work. Sounds simple enough…ready to sign up?

Decision

Imagine a person mountain climbing. Tracking over rough terrain reaching higher peaks, exhaustion pulling one to quit. There is no cake walk in the park when accepting God’s free gift of salvation. However, we decide which nature will be sown into…physical or spiritual. Choosing spiritual will reap eternal life. Pleasing physical nature reaps destruction. Does anyone escape this decision? I do not think so, we all have physical battles of some sort. Once I broke a Mountain Dew habit, my body began compensating with sugar.

Physical

It’s like swinging on a rope in the middle of a jungle. Can you see me swinging from one sweet to the next? Will this ever stop? Yes, when I decide to stop feeding this physical cycle removing the destructive seed. Which is the first sweet eaten each day. Conscious decision is key to breaking destructive cycle.

Spiritual

Sowing into Spiritual, begins our spiritual journey. Many Christians remain at point of salvation, choosing to sow into physical and dismiss spiritual. Some may do this by default, due to examples set before them. Yet, this is why God would lead me to dispel this false truth. We will reap what we sow. When people act bad- let God handle. They will reap what they sow.

Victory

Once faith begins to grow- mountain climbs become easier, even when advancing more difficult terrain. Winning spiritual battles, faith soars. More Christians sow into spiritual, more reflections of Christ evolve than of the world. Goals met in mountain climbing are sweet- I’m assuming. Same with maturity in Christ- His presence is so sweet. Closer we draw into Christ- physical chains loosen. As we keep drawing closer- physical battles are defeated. Who needs a victory? Don’t be deceived- definitely sign up!

Be encouraged!
