Jesus, Purpose Fulfilled

Jesus, Purpose Fulfilled“Now my heart is troubled, and what shall I say? ‘Father, save me this hour’? No, it was for this very reason I came to this hour. Father, glorify your name!” Then a voice came from Heaven, “I have glorified it, and will glorify it again.” (John 12: 27,28 NIV)

Crowd confused?

A crowd stood their mouths gasped and eyes wondered. Where did this voice come from? They were confused. One side thought an angel spoke to Jesus. Others felt it had thundered. Jesus clarified the voice was for their benefit. The time came for judgement on this world.

Power in the name of Jesus

Jesus became flesh and walked blameless in this world. A world ruled by satan. Lucifer became satan lost his highly acclaimed position as an arch-angel. Lucifer wanted to be God, pride led his fall. Through Jesus’s death on the cross, satan has been defeated. This is why we have victory today. There is nothing in satan’s limited power over the Word of God. There is power in the name of Jesus. When we pray, the Bible is clear, we are to pray in the name of Jesus. Why? When we do, we cover our prayer with God’s ultimate power.

Purpose fulfilled

The road to the cross was painful. Jesus was betrayed, mocked, beaten/whipped, and nailed to a cross. He was thirsty and given vinegar. Then Jesus cried out, “It is finished.” His spirit was given up. He fulfilled His purpose on Earth. What about our purpose? What is Jesus asking you to do for Him? Why make this difficult? Is there anything in this world worth gaining and lose with Jesus? A 2009 survey states 45% of Christians do not believe God’s Word as accurate.  Are we going to be indifferent or bring our voices together to proclaim God’s truth? Time is of essence. Did Jesus die His grueling death for us to betray Him now? Let’s make this a good Friday.

Be encouraged!
