God’s Remnant In Formation

God's Remnant In Formation“At that time I will gather you; at that time I will bring you home. I will give you honor and praise among all the peoples of the earth when I restore your fortunes before your very eyes.”  (Zephaniah 3:20 NIV)

Hope in darkness

Our fortunes restored before our very eyes, words written to make us smile. Zephaniah reaffirmed Nineveh was desolate, dry as a desert. A city superior with carefree individuals who felt safe, left in ruins for wild beast. Who is this scripture meant for? A possible remnant? How could he be so hopeful when darkness lurked all around him?

Predictions made

Zephaniah like Jonah and Nahum condemned sin and predicted God’s judgment. Zephaniah lived through one of the worst kings Judah experienced. King Manasseh known for shed of innocent blood, idol worship, child sacrifice, and male prostitution. In God’s temple, he built altars to worship stars. His son, Amon carried on the same way, however, his rule was short lived. Then King Josiah, only eight years old, restored the temple and destroyed all pagan idols.

God’s remnant

Zephaniah was the only prophet this week to bring hope. There is hope for the meek and humble, who trust in the name of the Lord. Those who seek righteousness and humility may find shelter from God’s fierce anger. They will be part of God’s remnant. God’s protection will be upon this group. They will not fear, nor have any deceit in their mouths. God promises to rescue the lame and all who have scattered. During this time of judgement, a remnant will be formed.

Characteristics of last days

Dear friends, as much as I want to help America be restored, I am not sure this will happen. I have no desire to predict the day of judgement. The Bible informs no one will know the time or day. Paul shares there will be terrible times in the last days-people will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.  (2 Timothy 1-5 NIV) Are you thinking what I am thinking? Who do we have left?

God will pour out His Spirit

God will pour out His Spirit in the last days. This is not a drip – this is a pouring out! If we will embrace God’s commands, surrender ourselves to God’s greater purpose, we have exciting days ahead! No need to fear, we trust God, our Savior. He supplies our every need. We can be confident a remnant is in formation. Those who call on the name of the Lord, will be saved. Will you be part of God’s remnant? Not sure? You can be today. Click on be saved. Today is a wonderful day for salvation. Let’s work to build God’s remnant. I cannot wait for our eyes to see fortunes restored!

Be encouraged!
