They said to you, “In the last times there will be scoffers who will follow their own ungodly desires.” These are the men who divide you, who follow mere natural instincts and do not have the spirit. (Jude :18,19 NIV)
Jude explains
Jude explains these individuals are like shepherds who feed only themselves. They are clouds without rain, autumn trees without fruit and uprooted. In addition to wild waves and wondering stars. Do you notice a common denominator? They have become detached. We see same when people leave the church. They become detached from the Truth. What are we to do? We become more determined than ever to have a keen awareness not to be deceived. I encourage you to read Jude today.
Determined
Be determined to read the Bible for yourself. God is faithful to help you understand the scriptures if you ask. We have a growing number of pastors who look more like the shepherd who feeds himself. Sin is permissible as condemnation sermons have long been gone.
Be determined once your full armor of God is fastened to stand firm. Do not be detoured from the full stance of boldness for the Word of God. The Word is Jesus and Jesus is the Word. Continue to grow in deeper knowledge. Stand for Truth. Stand for what is right in God’s eyes.
Be determined when all else turn from God’s principles you will not follow the crowd. Those who finish the race, receive the prize.
Be determined when everyone else is rude, you are nice. Let your little light shine.
Be determined to press on even when opposition is a strong force against you. No weapon formed against you will prosper.
Be determined to be joyful even if others are not. The joy of the Lord is our strength.
Be determined to fulfill God’s purpose in you. Only you and no one else can do what God has called you to do.
Be determined to have courage. This will help you keep your forward step towards your destiny.
Be determined to look up to the sky and see all the stars. As a believer, we are Abraham’s children.
Action
Determination has been the word running through my mind the last few days. Determine is a verb. We turn our thoughts into action, by determination. What we determine to do, we will do. What are you going to determine to do today? I am determined to press forward to get done the task God has given me at the moment. When we are faithful in the little, God will know we can handle much. Let’s get determined!
Be encouraged!
