God’s Power Revealed For Today

God's Power Revealed For Today

For the scripture says to Pharaoh: “I raised you up for this very purpose, that I might display my power in you and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth.” Therefore, God has mercy on whom he wants to have mercy and he hardens whom he wants to harden. (Romans 9:17,18 NIV)

Hardened heart

This verse grabbed my attention a few years ago. God purposely hardened Pharaoh’s heart? God’s Word is incredible. Recall, Pharaoh was the leader of Egypt during Moses’s plea to release the Israelites. Yet, every time Moses would ask Pharaoh, his heart would harden. He refused to let God’s people leave. Through each plague, God’s power was revealed. Eventually, Pharaoh relented and let the Israelites leave.

God is in control

Friends, God is in control. Our world may feel unsettled, God is in control. Our own personal lives may feel out of balance. Yet, total submission through salvation begins our relationship with God- Father, Jesus- Son, and the Holy Spirit. With Christ’s help, we can bring order to our lives in the middle of chaotic surroundings.

God’s principles

It is important to apply Biblical principles to our daily walk. Wednesday is dig deeper day. I suggest dig deeper here. How do we apply Biblical principles to today’s circumstances.

  1. Pray. Read our Bibles to know the principles.
  2. Realize our government circumstances are exactly the way God has orchestrated.
  3. Process how best for us to respond to these circumstances to reveal God’s power and bring glory to His name.
  4. Trouble finding scripture? Google the key word to your situation. Find scripture.
  5. I suggest read the full chapter to make sure scripture is understood.
  6. Study the experiences in the Bible.
  7. Apply to our own lives.

Natural Disasters

I have discussed with my husband and now with my mother-in-law yesterday… what would happen if we faced a famine? Would we be prepared? You may have been in the path of one of the wildfires. What would we do? We live on the New Madrid fault line. We could experience one of the largest earthquakes in America. However, we are in the center of the best soil for bumper crops. Our thoughts may think earthquake, when it could be a famine. We have driven several miles this summer across several states. Crops look great everywhere we have been. Yet, with cooler temps this summer, we are one early frost away from losing entires crops. Please, I am not saying this will happen. Replace any fear with faith. We have to get serious. Natural disasters are taking place all over our nation.

We need to stop reacting to situations and be proactive. Let’s dig deep into God’s Word and see how God will reveal wisdom to you for your situation. I promise He is faithful. When you seek, you will find.

Be encouraged!
