Sins Blur Vision To Confuse

Sin Identified Lessens Blurred VisionThose who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirt desires. The mind of the sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace; the sinful mind is hostile to God. (Romans 8: 5-7a NIV)

Change directions

It’s Motivating Monday! Being reminded about sin…what a way to be motivated! The exciting part is recognizing sin in our lives in order to turn our mindset around. The minds controlled by the Holy Spirit have life and peace. Now, this is what I am talking about. We talked about our minds not long ago. I believe in mind over matter. We have the ability within our minds to change directions if headed the wrong way. Sin is the wrong direction.

Free from sin

We were in one of the most incredible Church services yesterday. The pastor gave a baseline explaination on sanctification. Scripture from Romans 6 taught our ability to have a new identity in Christ by being free from the slavery of sin. Communion and baptism were discussed. Then a spontaneous call to be baptized was offered. I estimate close to 20-30 individuals came forward to be baptized. Incredible! Praise God! Seeing individuals surrender to Christ was amazing!

Sin blurred

As words of this sermon circulated in my mind, they connected with previous thoughts I had on sin. When sin is discussed, is sin understood? Are previous defined lines now blurred where there is no clear understanding? Do people understand what is sin? There are many individuals who appear to live as the world lives, yet consider themselves Christians. If their minds are set on the sinful nature, technically, they live according to what this nature desires. We have to be careful, we do not want Christians to live a false sense of security. Satan loves to blur people’s vision of sin. He started with Eve, she was kicked out of the garden.

Surrender

As we surrender to Christ, we are given the Holy Spirit, who lives within us. When we live according to the Holy Spirit, our minds will be set on what the Spirit desires. The more we fill our minds with Christ, the more we live by the Spirit. Take time to google sin scriptures. This is a quick and easy way to identify sin scripture in the Bible. Once we recognize sin, the Holy Spirit’s nudge will be felt for us to turn away from sin. He is our counselor and guides us into all truth. Which nature do you live under? Curious if anyone is ready to surrender? Let’s be motivated to live by the Holy Spirit and avoid blurred confusion.

It Motivating Monday! Be encouraged!
