Sheep Vs. Goats, Separated

Sheep Vs. Goats, Which side are you on?The King will reply, “I tell you the truth, whatever you did for the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.” (Matthew 25:40 NIV)

Help

The Labor Day poem made me think. Jesus calls for us to help the poor and the widower. Here in Matthew, we learn that Jesus will separate individuals one from another like a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. Sheep will be on Jesus’s right and the goats on His left. The left will be cursed into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. The right will be considered blessed by God, given their inheritance-the kingdom prepared for them since the creation of the world. Why the difference?

Sheep

The sheep gave when people were hungry. They gave when someone was thirsty. Hospitality was shown to strangers. Clothes were given to those in need. When someone was sick they were checked on. Alas, when someone was in prison, they were visited. The goats dismissed all these circumstances.

I wonder…

I began to wonder…What if…

  • all Christian churches in America begin working together.
  • They divide areas of their locations into sections closest to their respective church.
  • They could get a list of all welfare recipients.
  • Divide families amongst the churches.
  • Begin to minister to their physical needs.
  • Then minister to their spiritual needs.
  • What kind of education help might they need?
  • Is it possible the church can help families get back on their feet?

All things are possible

All things are possible to those who believe in Jesus. We are the hands and feet of Christ. What we do to the least of these, we do for Jesus. We have numerous mission organizations and church programs already in place. Yet look around-Do you see more can be done? There may be overwhelming thoughts on the number of people in our nation. However, consider how many more Israelites were to exit versus when they first arrived in Egypt. This expanded number did not slow God’s thoughts down to help them escape slavery. He miraculously departed the Red Sea to let all the Israelites through. Then closed the waters to destroy Egyptians trying to stop them. God’s same miraculous power is for us today. He looks for individuals who will step up to believe. Then follow His voice on path to take. We have a multitude in their own sense of slavery that need help to escape. This is dig deep Wednesday! Please pray about what you can do to help? I will pray too. Together we can work to bring unity in all our Christian churches and make a difference.

Be encouraged!
