Training: Equipped For Every Good Work

Training: Equipped For Every Good WorkAll scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3: 16,17 NIV)

Arrived?

When I talk about going through the season of refinement, my hot fire, you may wonder…what is she talking about? We all reach a point where we think we have arrived. Our flesh is full of pride and pleased with our self-consumed reflections of success. High school graduations rank high on the list. Did we think we made it to adulthood or what?! College-Oh, we are smart now. Marriage…I thought would be a piece of cake. I knew I married my God-given man…what else? Little did I know, this is where training would begin for me. How about you? When did you reach this realization?

Training

Before we set forth equipped, we must complete training. Training duration will depend on reactions. There will be circumstances we do not like. Flesh tends to have a control issue. We are to conform into Christ’s likeness. We are to love like He loves, think like He thinks and act like He acted. As a believer, we are led by our inner spirit man, the Holy Spirit. The more we read our Bible, hear the Word of God preached, and fellowship with Christians, the stronger our inner man becomes over flesh. Once we go through teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, we will gain maturity. Then…we will be equipped to set out on another plane for destiny.

Believe

We must believe in the Bible. Every word is God-breathed. We either accept this challenge or reject and walk away. Too many settle in at the point of salvation and never mature. If christians never mature, who will disciple new believers? Sadly, the opposite happens…people turn away from God due to their immature actions. The love of Christ is not felt in churches and visitors are turned off. We no longer want this to happen.

Dig Deep

Training for a marathon or climbing a mountain is never easy. Yet when they cross the finish line or reach the top, their elation bursts from deep within. The same is true when a Christian has successfully trained and Jesus declares ready for service. You may be called to step up to lead a women’s ministry, be in foreign missions or be the custodian in a children’s hospital who sees first hand the hard night a family endured and can pray with them with the patient resting immediately. This is a true story and a testimony I will never forget. God has believer’s stationed in all areas. He needs us trained and equipped to serve. Let’s dig deep today to see how God will reveal this message further in your heart.

Be encouraged!
