Lemons Vs. Lemonade: All Things Are Possible

Lemons Vs. Lemonade: All Things Are PossibleHumble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. (1 Peter 5:6,7 NIV)

Fountains

If life gives you lemons, make lemonade. A cliche or a well trusted expression? Levels of despair range deep and wide. Same as trusted song- deep and wide, deep and wide- there’s a fountain flowing deep and wide. Fountains we see often flow with water. Fountains in the Bible described as:

  • Life- For with you(God) is the fountain of life; in your light we see light.  (Psalm 36:9 NIV)
  • Wisdom- The words of a man’s mouth are deep waters, but the fountain of wisdom is a bubbling brook. (Proverbs 18:4 NIV)
  • Holy Spirit– Jesus says, “Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him.” (John 7:38 NIV)

Lemons or Lemonade?

Therefore, in case life has given lemons, do not count yourself out. With Jesus all things are possible. We believe in one who the world denies. Believe Jesus died on the cross and rose three days later. Accept Jesus as our personal Savior. Confess Jesus as Lord of our lives. Those who truly identify with these proclamations, lemonade is offered. The gift of salvation is free. Faith without works is dead. We can accept God’s free gift, yet if we do nothing more to pursue Christ, then we only see lemons.

Decisions

Deciding to pursue Christ, fountains of life provide wisdom with power from streams of living water. It’s like water flowing through a filter- compressed with world contaminations. As pure water flows, contaminations are removed. Cleaner filters become, easier for purifying water to flow. Sin clogs- living water purifies.

Love

Jesus’s love absorbs all anxiety. Why? He cares for you. Satan thrives when we’re stiffened with anxiety, he loves to steal, kill, and destroy. God gives life more abundant. Willingness to humble ourselves under God’s authority, turns lemons into lemonade in due time. Jesus is willing- are we?
