Circumstances Change with Faith To Believe

Circumstances change with faith and beliefHe replied, “Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” (Matthew 17:20,21 NIV)

Circumstances

Circumstances are not always going our way. Life is like a roller coaster. We start slow, momentum builds- before we blink we face twist and turns. Some turns are sharp while others are joyous. Tracks up are rackety. Then all of a sudden, coaster stops and goes backwards. Forward once again slowing to a nice pace. Yes, some laugh while others scream and cry. In life- a soured marriage, financials, health, parenting…the list goes on. It’s easy to step off ride and never return. That’s the coward way out. As dire as situations may look- God is the God of all hope. In Him all things are possible.

Belief

Disciples were learning. They were amidst circumstances much like today. Unable to heal the demon possessed boy, disciples failed to believe. The problem was unbelief. This irritated Jesus. He questioned, “How long shall I put up with you?” He requested the boy brought to Him. Scripture states, Jesus rebuked the demon. The demon came out and immediately the boy was healed. Disciples questioned why they lacked success. Jesus replied, “Lack of faith.”

Humble pie?

I’ve experienced my share of dire situations, or so they felt. God willing- I’ll have no need for anymore humble pie. Many of our test and trials require internal work before circumstances change. If we claim to be a Christian, God expects us to act like one. Much of what happens in our world has to do with believers compromising. I believe compromise turns more people away from true Bible- believing churches. Contrary to media’s surge- there are hurting individuals in darkened worlds looking for flickers of light. It’s not a practice what I preach and not what I do. It’s what we do that is noticed and produces a person’s reactions- good or bad.

God’s Power

Mustard seeds grow taller than all plants. Consider God’s power revealed through this seed’s small size. Jesus says- with the smallest grain of faith, you have His power on board. You can speak to your problem and it must come under God’s authority. Add belief and you’ll watch the problem dissolve. Even our slightest need, God wants us to have faith to believe in God of all possibilities. Motivating Monday! Let’s have fun on this roller coaster we call life and watch our circumstances improve.

Be encouraged!
