Tangible Blessings: Avoiding Unnecessary Detours

Tangible Blessings: Avoiding DetoursHe must become greater; I must become less. “The one who comes from above is above all; the one who is from the earth belongs to the earth, and speaks as one from the earth. The one who comes from heaven is above all. He testifies to what he has seen and heard, but no one accepts his testimony. (John 30-32 NIV)

Yielding

Surrender continues to be on my heart, please continue to pray for God’s purpose to prevail. May all hearts on verge of surrendering, release constraints around the world. Yielding to the Holy Spirit is not like watermelon splatting. Have you ever seen watermelon bursting open- not pretty. Yielding to the Holy Spirt is more like watching blown bubbles float throughout air. Once they land, time to blow more bubbles. Surrender is not a one time event.

Hang-ups

Could the biggest hangup be- not wanting to become less? Self proposed steps can certainly lead to top. What if your top takes you to the 10th floor and God wanted to take you to the 25th floor. Time sensitive discussing high-rises, please no disrespect meant for 9-11 anniversary. Releasing control of our own goals and dreams, mean dependency on someone else to guide. For most of our society- deception has caused doubt in God’s supremacy. We have to believe in God- who is above all, yet not seen. Intellectuals want tangible. Tangible is seen when surrender occurs starting with salvation.

Faithfulness

From this point on- more we seek God, more we find. As a child of Most High, we’re adopted as heirs of Christ. No longer are we on our own. God provides a helper, The Holy Spirit. He is the Spirit of Truth, helping us discern between good vs. evil. He is our counselor. Have a problem? Find a quiet place and talk. This is when our listening skills need to be tuned. God blesses faithfulness in measures unknown, yet tangible to be seen. Becoming less, actually allows God to grant more. He is giver of the best gifts. As we grow mature during our spiritual journey, we honor Christ more. Our personalities become refined, choices we make reflect holiness, including modesty.

Tangible

The moment we make decisions within our own greatness, we detour off of God’s plan. Detoured routes delay God’s best for our lives. Tangible blessings we can see, hear, touch, taste, and smell. They are by-products of fulfilling God’s purpose for our lives. As we study God’s Word, do we believe Jesus’s testimony. Coming from heaven, Jesus Word’s are truthful and trustworthy. Are you ready to be challenged? Challenged to surrender- avoiding detours to walk straight paths in God’s plans. I promise, better than we could ever imagine.

Be encouraged!
