Repent: How About Repentance America?

Listen and hear my voice; pay attention and hear what I say. When a farmer plows for planting, does he plow continually? Does he keep on breaking up and harrowing the soil? (Isaiah 28:23,24 NIV)

Vital time

Prophet Isaiah, an advisor to four kings of Judah, lived during a vital time in history. One of the greatest authors of all time, Isaiah voiced warnings to the people. They were either going to repent or spiral down a dangerous path. History records their fate into captivity. Do we face same crossroad?

Division

Political unrest split Israelites into separate nations. Sin continues to be at the heart of all conflict. Democrats represent much more than values and ethics from twenty years ago. Therefore, many have jumped ship to Republicans. Then unhappy republicans and democrats have jumped ship to the Tea Party or the Libertarians. A nation divided- you bet. Confusion stirred by none other than satan. Blurred truth affects every individual.

Repent

The world created by God will follow God’s design for life- outlined in the Bible. The is an absolute truth- believe it or not. Romans chapter 1 informs we will be without excuse. God’s invisible qualities- His eternal power and divine nature have been clearly seen. With softened hearts, we’re able to understand scripture and need to repent.

Farming

God provides parables to help understand scripture. Farming is an example. In this technology age we live, farm principles become less known. Land for farming becomes less with economical growth. Satan knows squeezing out farmers- tightens Biblical understanding. Fewer individuals to understand scripture, less to repent, happier satan becomes.

Understanding

Do and do, do and do, rule on rule; a little here, a little there- so that they will go and fall backward, be injured and snared and captured– (Isaiah 28:13) Doing same thing over and over will cause stagnation. We’re either moving forward or sliding backwards. Rotating crops is a technique used in farming. Different crops require different techniques. Each nation requires individual treatment. Those who repent will avoid heavy consequences. America- Are we ready to repent?
