Friendship With World- Hatred/Enemy of God

You adultrous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world is hatred toward God? Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God. (James 4:4,5 NIV)

Miracles

I am a friend of God, He calls me, friend. Right after our boys received miracles, this song heightened with meaning. Revelation intensified with God bringing thoughts to my mind long forgotten. Times when I chose Jesus dating back to my youth. I never considered the impact those moments would make to future events. Never once during this time was failure remembered. Once lessons are learned from failure, character sharpens.

Savior

Jesus is Savior to many, yet a friend to those who follow His commands. Knowing good we ought to do that we do not do, sins. Failure to relate cost of sin to eternal life seems to be trending. It’s far more popular to become engulfed in sin and demand the world’s definition of acceptance. The difference for other Christians, they hunger and thirst after righteousness. More we study scripture, more sin removed from our lives. Our thoughts are transformed by the renewing of our minds. Breastplate of righteousness thickens protecting our hearts. Preferences change in food, drink, music, movies, television, books, and interactions. Friendship with the world, changes into a friendship with Jesus.

Changes

Changes soon in our country’s political structure, from governors to senate. The majority proved our country is tired of current trends. It also proved how close many races run and the value of our vote. Whatever party affiliation, we must first honor God. Seeking God’s direction establishes a history of honoring Him. This may be a new thought for some and old hat for others. God is large and in charge- He is not surprised by who becomes elected. He can set wicked leaders in place for His will to be done. God is sovereign. As God’s people turn away from wickedness, He’ll heal our land.

Friendship

What do you seek today? Friendship with the world? Friendship with Jesus? Being an enemy of God is never the answer. We never know when miracles may be our only hope. If so, Jesus is the source. Ready to sharpen character? We’ll never find a better friend, Jesus is the best!
