Content: Trusting God, Experiencing Peace

Content: Trusting God, Experiencing PeaceI can do everything through him who gives me strength. (Philippians 4:13 NIV)

Circumstances

Motivating Monday! Whatever your circumstance- Paul stated his knowledge of being in need, to have plenty, fed or hungry, have plenty or want, his key was being content in every situation. I am the last person that should write a blog on being content. However, peace I experience now could have been possible during earlier life transitions. Being content takes full trust in God, knowing He is large and in charge.

Trust

Placing this level of trust in God, releases amazing peace. I see younger mothers pull the mother bear card, how my heart wants to reach out. There are times I have to remind myself, I am a rehabilitated mother bear, and repeat this a few times. God is always working on behalf of His children. Jesus intercedes, while the Holy Spirit is working within to help us be content.

Content

Our son is with a new ball team this summer. We are having a blast. Only because we are trusting God, being content with circumstances on this team. There are boys entering eighth grade to tenth grade in the fall, technically a 13-15 year old team. As Christians, we’re placed in situations for more reasons than what’s obvious. Take time to draw back claws, being content- sensitive to the Holy Spirit’s leading.

Character

Keeping a positive attitude is a bit cliche. Yet, it’s hard to develop being content, when reeking negativity. This is exactly where satan likes to add fuel to the fire. If he can discredit someone’s character, he discredits Jesus within. This is one of the first steps in understanding spiritual war-fare. Avoiding temptations to sin, frees our path to seek more of Jesus. Gaining wisdom, knowledge, and understanding moves us forward in life.

Strength

You may not be a mother bear- you may be a daddy bull. You may be exactly in one of Paul’s circumstances. Believing your strength comes from God, allows our ability to do everything. When Christ is Savior, where there is a will, there is a way. Truly, my mantra in life. I believe this with all my heart. It’s not being content outside of Christ. Let’s be motivated to being content surrendered in Christ.

Be encouraged!
